12:30, quick run to see the views at Whitehead. A good morning hike to the top of the hill and then paint some spectacular views of the surrounding buildings, or an overview of the village and Manana. We are out on a fantastically beautiful island and I feel everyone should take off from painting for at least half a day to hike, explore, just sit and watch the sea gulls, do some sketching. 1pm, after a nice lunch (many places to choose from at this time of the year) meet at the church for a hike up to Burnt Head and if anyone wants to continue, through to Lobster Cove (with a possible stop at the Monhegan Brewery). They have quite a few choices of baked good and beverages here in the morning. Great late afternoon spot to stick around for. 2 - 5, surrounding area, possibly behind the Cabot cabin looking towards Manana. Great views looking towards Lobster Cove or Manana. Tuesday 22nd, 9 - 12, South end of Monhegan near the Wyeth house. 12:30 - 2:30, You can leave your easel up, grab a sandwich from a local store and watch me do a demonstration during your lunch. There are many beautiful views to choose from in this area, the surrounding roads and of course the beach itself. Same area, probably best to start a new painting for the afternoon. Anywhere in this vicinity, the buildings are beautiful in the morning light, with some great views of Manana as well behind the building. A time to get to meet other students and I will possibly do a quick demonstration to get everyone started and to demonstrate my style of painting and teaching. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. The week's schedule will change a bit with the weather. Our hike out to Whitehead, great views of Gull rock and Blackhead.Ī quick demonstration on the first day will get everyone going, and then the whole week will be spent painting one beautiful place after another. September 30 - October 7th: reserve a room at the Island Inn August 19 - 26th: arrange your own accomondations
