If Powerwashing doesn’t fix your Chrome OS issue, you have a more “nuclear” option available: Reinstall Chrome OS entirely. Now your Pixelbook will reset itself to factory settings, and, hopefully, your issues will disappear. Step 6: Follow the steps displayed on your Pixelbook. Step 5: Click the blue Continue button to confirm. Step 4: Click the blue Powerwash button in the pop-up window. Step 2: Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R. Step 1: Sign out of your account (if possible). If a reboot doesn’t work, your next step is to reset the device to the original factory settings. Step 3: Press the Power button to turn the Pixelbook back on. Step 2: The screen dims, and a pop-up appears. Shortly after booting up, you might get an error message that says, “Chrome OS is missing or damaged.” This error comes in a variety of different forms, but it’s a fairly common one.įirst, reboot your Pixelbook and see if that fixes the problem. This is one of the major issues you might encounter if your Pixelbook is misbehaving. With that out of the way, let’s start with system-wide issues you may currently face. Recovery is required when Chrome OS is damaged/corrupted and cannot be repaired. Recovery: This reinstalls Chrome OS from an external source, like a flash drive.Afterward, you’ll need to link it to your account, redownload apps, and so on. 12:30, quick run to see the views at Whitehead. A good morning hike to the top of the hill and then paint some spectacular views of the surrounding buildings, or an overview of the village and Manana. We are out on a fantastically beautiful island and I feel everyone should take off from painting for at least half a day to hike, explore, just sit and watch the sea gulls, do some sketching. 1pm, after a nice lunch (many places to choose from at this time of the year) meet at the church for a hike up to Burnt Head and if anyone wants to continue, through to Lobster Cove (with a possible stop at the Monhegan Brewery). They have quite a few choices of baked good and beverages here in the morning. Great late afternoon spot to stick around for. 2 - 5, surrounding area, possibly behind the Cabot cabin looking towards Manana. Great views looking towards Lobster Cove or Manana. Tuesday 22nd, 9 - 12, South end of Monhegan near the Wyeth house. 12:30 - 2:30, You can leave your easel up, grab a sandwich from a local store and watch me do a demonstration during your lunch. There are many beautiful views to choose from in this area, the surrounding roads and of course the beach itself. Same area, probably best to start a new painting for the afternoon. Anywhere in this vicinity, the buildings are beautiful in the morning light, with some great views of Manana as well behind the building. A time to get to meet other students and I will possibly do a quick demonstration to get everyone started and to demonstrate my style of painting and teaching. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. The week's schedule will change a bit with the weather. Our hike out to Whitehead, great views of Gull rock and Blackhead.Ī quick demonstration on the first day will get everyone going, and then the whole week will be spent painting one beautiful place after another. You will complete the standard Netlogo Tutorial #1. PART 1: WORKING WITH A SIMULATION: In this section you will open an existing simulation and work with the model to explore the NetLogo user interface. Collectively these selections introduce the Netlogo environment, simulations, and the basic agents and command sets. The complete programming manual for NetLogo can be found here: (alt link) A shorter easier to user QuickStart Guide can be found here: (alt link) There are 2 sections to this lab. Remember, in Netlogo misspelling a word, or adding an extra space in a command will mean your program won't work. Using NetLogo will also give you more hands on experience in programming in a language that requires you to type in your own code. NetLogo is free of charge and can be downloaded here: We are using Netlogo to introduce the concepts behind computer agents and the agent-based programming paradigm. If colonisation is slow the first species to arrive may form large populations that lower the equilibrium number of species for a long time. HOW TO USE ITĭraw some islands before running the model, or nothing much will happen! THINGS TO NOTICE New individuals reaching the island may colonise, but lack of space leads to faster extinction (turnover) rates as time goes on. Similar rules are applied to the continental population with a slight difference to allow for scaling. Those that do manage to colonise the island can begin to replicate and form a population using simple rules that remove individuals through crowding. If they do not reach the island their energy is exhausted and they die. NetLogo calls functions reporter procedures and says that they report a value. Individuals that find themselves in the sea start “swimming” quickly in the direction they are facing. In each time step the individuals of the species move a random amount. Many tourists used the glasses to manipulate the landscape: a sunrise glass when used at midday gave a dawn view! As Gilpin wrote, Picturesque practice always involved some ‘improvement’ of the landscape. It miniaturized the reflected landscape, so that detail was lost except in the foreground, thereby helping painters to simplify what they saw. The Claude Glass was a convex mirror about four inches wide on a black foil. Travellers in search of the Picturesque had some essential items in their luggage, which were deemed necessary to control the untamed landscapes they encountered! A piece of tinted glass, called a Claude Glass, a pedometer, a telescope, a barometer, maps, memorandum books, tour journals, sketch books, drawing pads, a watercolour set, pens and pencils, and a pocket edition of William Cowper’s poems were the essential requisites for a tour. There is also a "word of the day" with our pick of the most interesting and entertaining words in the English language. And we managed to keep data offline without needing a massive app download. It also works well if you only have an intermittent network connection because the definitions are stored offline, locally on the device. You can see your word history and revisit definitions, or make your own list of favourite words to help build up your vocabulary. The speech function helps provide the correct pronunciation. Definitions include synonyms and antonyms which allows the dictionary to also serve as a thesaurus. Wildcard characters can be used to help with word games like crosswords and scrabble where only some of the letters are known, or you have to find an anagram, or with spelling. Then you can follow the links in the definition page to get more word definitions. As you type, Dictionary homes in on the word you are looking for. The home page contains a randomly selected word cloud which will pique your curiosity and help you improve your vocabulary, while the search box allows you to find specific words easily. The dictionary definitions are stored locally, and because it's ad-free there's no need for a network connection. SRLs who can’t afford a full retainer can access discrete advice and be referred back to the SHC for further support.Įlkinton added that the list, “a really great way to offer legal help for those who can’t afford an attorney,” also gives limited scope attorneys “free marketing and a great business model by bringing in new potential clients almost daily.” Working with the Bar to maintain the list of limited scope attorneys also creates both training and quality control measures that ensure unbundling is carried out in an ethical way. By using a list of limited scope attorneys maintained by the Alaska Bar Association, Alaska’s SHCs can ethically refer to the bar list, creating what Monica Elkinton, co-chair of the Alaskan Bar’s unbundled section, calls, “a win-win situation” where SRLs get the legal advice they need, and lawyers get clients who have broken down their legal problem into the procedural aspects that need a lawyer and those that a SHC can support. Alaska’s limited scope referral model is an example for other states’ SHCs of how to help self-represented litigants find the limited scope legal help they need while both remaining impartial and maintaining quality control.Īlaska and Massachusetts have been early leaders in offering bar sponsored unbundled lists at SHCs. The Bar sponsored list is part of Alaska's broader ecosystem of access initiatives and offers the state’s self-help center (SHC) an invaluable neutral referral system to guide self-represented litigants seeking discreet advice towards the help they need. The section has two primary functions: maintaining a list of unbndled attorneys in a variety of substantive areas, and offering ongoing training and support to its members to maintain high qaulity and ethical unbundled services. In 2010, the Alaska Bar Association established the country's first Unbundled Section with the dual goal of supporting its members in the development of their practices and expanding access to justice for the public. M2A Connect | Cloud Frame Rate Converter makes it easier for global broadcasters to accept content in any frame rate and convert it to a high-performance feed for local output, regardless of where the content owner may be, without the need to invest in, host and support dedicated hardware. It is delivered entirely as an on-demand, pay-per-use system and gives broadcasters and OTT platforms flexibility and scalability without the outright costs usually associated with traditional hardware-based frame rate conversion. Integrated with M2A Media’s M2A Connect cloud acquisition, aggregation and distribution system, M2A Connect | Cloud Frame Rate Converter is a live, cloud-based, motion-compensated frame rate conversion service. M2A Connect | Cloud Frame Rate Converter applies a different approach. Frame rate conversion hardware often has lengthy supply lead times, made worse by the recent semiconductor shortage, which can delay the on-time, in-budget delivery of broadcast projects. In particular, transporting equipment and staff around the world to support each event is expensive and inefficient. Keeping proprietary hardware on-premises for irregular use is costly and limiting. Many broadcasters find they occasionally need frame rate conversion to handle unexpected peak demand or planned additional services for special events, such as international sports tournaments and major competitions. M2A Media, specialising in software-defined broadcast systems, is collaborating with image processing and broadcast standards conversion specialists InSync Technology Ltd and video streaming and transcoding company Hiscale to launch the first motion-compensated, live, cloud-based frame rate conversion service, M2A Connect | Cloud Frame Rate Converter, to the global market. |
